Geolis Revolutionizes Production with Backpressure Reduction Plants in the Gulf of Mexico
In May 2022, Geolis installed the first Backpressure Reduction Plant on platforms in the Southwest Marine Region, beginning operations in July of the same year. As of the end of March 2025, we have four facilities in operation, handling an average production of 30,000 bpd.
This integrated production system extends the productive life of wells experiencing rapid pressure decline, which typically stop flowing to processing lines after just a few months of operation due to high backpressure. By reducing pressure in the flowline, hydrocarbon recovery is optimized, ensuring sustainable and highly efficient production.
With an operational reliability above 99% and more than 390 days without shutdowns attributable to Geolis, we reaffirm our commitment to operational excellence and continuous production.
